Duties:Essential Functions
The Trauma Coordinator's roles and responsibilities are expected to change over the course of time. The essential responsibilities will include helping Montrose Memorial Hospital assure the delivery of comprehensive trauma care throughout the facility. Initially, this will be done by assisting the Trauma Committee and hospital administration in determining the level of participation we should pursue through the state registry.
Specific duties under these categories may include:
On a continuing basis, collect and maintain trauma data, meeting both hospital and state registry requirements.
Provide follow-up on problems identified during trauma critiques with appropriate department heads or supervisors.
Participate in trauma morbidity and mortality conferences, identifying cases for review and presenting registry reports.
Participate in hospital-wide trauma education, including prevention and rehabilitation, assisting with orientation for all trauma care services.
Participate in the education of other healthcare professionals (through workshops and standards) and serving as a resource to pre-hospital providers.

Qualifications:Education: Current Colorado Registered Nurse License. BSN or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Certification:
Minimum of three years previous clinical experience in trauma care in an emergency department or ICU setting required.
Experience in trauma program management preferred.
Experience with Quality Assurance/Risk Management preferred.
Certification in BCLS, ACLS, TNCC and ENPC required. Preferred membership in professional organizations, such as Colorado Trauma Network, ENA, AACCN and AORN.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
